Elevated into the zeitgeist with rumors started by Tool's Adam Jones, the Silverburst Custom is a wild, yet classy finish on a top notch instrument. The original run of Silverburst Customs hit the scene in the late 1970's, and was unique as it was the only color not offered with gold hardware. This is a newer model from the Custom Shop that has a mahogany neck (as opposed to the maple neck on an original run), one piece mahogany body with a two piece maple top, and topped off with all of the cosmetic appointments that accompany the Custom line. They also switched the finish from chromed aluminum to chromed polyester so you won't experience the extra weight that has been associated with the originals (although I speculate its a myth). Very cool guitar that Gibson is not offering at this time!
